A great opera with "flaws"

2008年3月21日，在中国国家大剧院将要首演的《图兰朵》具有两方面的意义，一方面，它是中国国家大剧院歌剧厅首演的第一部中国制作的意大利歌剧。另一方面，它是为纪念普契尼诞辰150周年和普契尼基金会共同完成的一次创作，毫无疑问这是一次很有意义的演出。

OUTLINE / The National Centre for the Performing Arts production of Turandot is significant only because this will be the inaugural opera at the new venue, but it also happens to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Puccini＇s birth. Starting on November 23 last year, I spent an entire month reading four translated editions of the story to prepare myself as an insightful director for this work. But when I really studied the libretto of Turandot, i did find many a flaw.
