An Analysis of the Effects of Multinational Companies' R&D Investment in China:Viewed from the Advantages for the Longitudinal Inter-firm Networks of Electronics and Information Industry

纵向企业网络具有沿全球产业价值链的层级性特征,并具有整合优势和节约交易成本等优势。跨国公司对华电子信息产业R&D投资通过改变我国电子信息企业在纵向企业网络中的层级影响纵向企业网络优势的形成和发挥。一方面,跨国公司R&D投资在一定程度上促进了我国电子信息产业从跨国公司的生产制造中心向技术开发中心的转变,促进了我国电子信息产业纵向企业网络向更高层级跃升;另一方面,跨国公司R&D投资呈现出较强的技术封锁趋势。中国电子信息产业纵向企业网络优势的形成和增强,关键在于中国高新技术企业通过自主技术创新在标准之争中获胜。

The longitudinal inter-firm network is of many advantages, such as gradation along industrial value chain, conformity advantage for lowering risks and lowering transaction costs. Multinational Companies＇ R＆D investment in China＇s electronics and information industry affects the advantages of the longitudinal inter-firm network by changing China＇s companies＇ gradation in the network. On one hand, Multinational Companies＇ R＆D investment has,to some extent,accelerated China＇s change of the electronics and information industry from manufacturing center to R＆D center,so to advance China＇s gradation in the longitudinal inter-firm network; on the other hand, Multinational Companies＇ R＆D investment is of strong blockade trend. The key to forming and building the advantages for the longitudinal inter-firm network of China＇s electronics and information industry depends on independent innovation by China＇s companies, so to win the industries＇ standards.
