The distribution situation of chironomid and its larvae in water purification structures as well as the relationship of chironomid breeding with water quality and weather in waterworks using ozone/ activated carbon filter processes were introduced. The methods on how to effectively prevent chironomid and its larvae in daily management of the water purification structures and during the production process as well as the experiences in ensuring of quality safety of finished water were summarized.
