The developing of brain imaging technology provides more way to study mechanism of anesthesia. Positron emission tomography (PET) is a kind of new non - invasive technology in studying function of brain. The activity variance of neuron can be directly reflected. The targets of general anesthetics can be located in vivo with this technology. In this article, we reviewed the application of PET in studying mechanism of general anesthesia in recent years.
