摘要
徐复观所著《中国艺术精神》是海外新儒家的代表著作之一,他在探讨音乐在中国上古社会中的地位,以及孔子、儒家与音乐的关系的时候,没有严格遵循历史科学的方法。徐复观夸大了音乐在上古社会的影响力,没有充分考虑音乐在孔子和儒家思想中的工具性价值,并把当时的音乐看作是纯粹的、独立的艺术形态。他在调和上古音乐的道德工具性与艺术独立性时,常常自相矛盾。为了重建中国思想的新道统,重建一个价值和信仰的权威体系,他对历史材料进行了重新编排和主观阐释。
Chinese Artistic Spirit written by Xu Fu-guan is one of the representative works of New Confucian abroad. When Xu studied the status of music in ancient China and the relationship between Confucius and Confucian and music, he did not follow strictly with the method of historical science. Xu Fu-guan magnified the force of music in ancient times and did not consider fully about the im- plemental value of music in the thought of Confucius and Confucian and often regarded the music of that time as a pure and absolute ar- tistic form. He was usually ambivalent when he integrated the moral implemental role and the artistic role property of the ancient music. In order to reconstruct the new standard system of Chinese thought and authoritative system of value and belief, he rearranged the historical facts and interpreted them subjectively.
