Breeding and Evaluation of New Oriental Tobacco Variety YNOTBS1 and its Characteristics

云香巴斯玛一号是从克撒锡巴斯玛的变异株中系统选育出的新品种,该品种农艺性状稳定,田间生长整齐,植株塔形,叶形长椭圆,大田生育期194～203 d,农艺性状和经济性状均优于原主栽品种克撒锡巴斯玛和柯玛蒂尼巴斯玛。烟叶成熟好,易调制,颜色多为橘黄色,厚薄均匀,油分有至富有,外观品质较好;内在化学成分较协调;单料烟评吸香气品质较好,综合评吸指标优于主栽品种克撒锡巴斯玛和柯玛蒂尼巴斯玛。田间自然发病率较低,综合抗性较好,高抗细菌性斑点病。

A new oriental tobacco variety YNOTBS1 was developed from a variant of Xanthi Basma. The variety had stable agronomic attributes, grew uniformly under field conditions, with a tower-shaped plant, long elliptic shaped leaves, and a field growth period of 194 to 203 days before harvest. YNOTBS1 was superior to Xanthi Basma and Komatini Basma with regards to agronomic attributes and economic values. The leaves of YNOTBS 1 featured full maturity and were easy to cure. The cured leaves were largely in orange color, appropriate thickness, rich oil, and high apparent quality. The contents and ratio of major chemical components were appropriate, and the cured leaves had better taste and aroma and the comprehensive evaluation of smoking was superior to Xanthi Basma and Komatini Basma. YNOTBS 1 had broad resistances to diseases in field condition, with high resistance to bacterial leaf spot.
