摘要
已故北京大学徐通锵教授曾提出过这样一个问题:美国语言学和中国语言学原本几乎处在同一起跑线上,为什么却走了不同的道路?笔者将这一发人深省的问题命名为"徐通锵难题"。徐通锵先生自己对这一"难题"的解答,可名之曰"徐解";笔者对这一"难题"的解答则名之为"鲁解"。中外史实证明,国家之强盛必然带来其学术文化的强势,这即是笔者提出来的"国力学术相应律"。近年中国持续发展,综合国力大增,中国语言学人自可循"不崇洋,不排外"之原则,以中国语言学的优良传统为根源,取西方以及其他地区的语言学的精华而融通之,坚定地走自主创新之路,建设创新型的中国语言学。
The late professor of Peking University Xu tongqiang raised a question in the “2005 Hangzhou Forum on Linguistics” : the study of linguistics in America and China started almost at the same time, but why it leads to different ways in these two countries? This thought-provoking question, known as “Xu Tongqiang Hypothesis”, has got its solution both from its raiser professor Xue and me. By the end of 2005, I put forward a rule: the correlation between national strength of a nation and its academic influence as my explanation of the fact that linguistic study in China follows its counterpart in the West for long, which involved Chinese historic facts as evidence. For years, I study American history, and found the influence of American linguistics lies in the national power of the US, and further proves the rule mentioned above. With the increase of comprehensive power of China, I reiterate the principle of getting rid of blind worship or opposition to foreign things, absorb the quintessence of the Western academy into. the traditional Chinese linguistic studies to create a new linguistics of China.
