The Effects of Structure on Urban Economic Growth——By a two-sector model

通过一个两部门模型,实证研究了产业结构对中国城市经济增长的影响,结果证明第二产业的生产要素边际生产率高于第三产业。生产要素边际生产率在产业间的差异,导致生产要素由低生产率产业向高生产率产业流动,这个过程就是产业结构调整的过程。产业结构的调整将会促进经济增长。尽管从产业结构上来看,第二产业的产值比重是连年下降的,但是,本文通过实证分析表明,第二产业仍然是我国城市经济增长的主导力量。

The article analyzes the effect of structure on urban economic growth by a two-sector model. I conclude that the secondary industry has higher factor efficiency than the tertiary industry. The difference leads to the flow of factor from low efficiency to high efficiency. In fact, the process is the adjustment of structure which benefits economic growth. I find the share of the secondary industry is increasing, and the share of the tertiary industry is decreasing. This is consistent with the conclusion of model.
