The study explores the effects of the factors of circumstances and tasks on the choice of reference frame by motion - maze and lan- guage description ＇tasks. The results show that whether the goal object and the circumstances can be seen as a whole or not determined subjects＇ choice of reference frame in spatial tasks. The open space or the goal object and circumstances can be seen as a whole contribute to subjects＇ choosing the absolute reference frame. Spatial language habits have effects on non- linguistic spatial cognition,but the effect is decided by the relationship between circumstances and tasks.
