A Comparative Study of Grammatical Metaphor and Cognitive Metaphor

语法隐喻和认知隐喻两种隐喻理论基于对语言的不同理解,对隐喻的研究因此呈现出不同的特点。两种隐喻理论,有四个不同点——对语言的认识不同、研究范围大小不同、对人类经验的分类不同、对"重塑"这一概念的理解不同;一个相同点——都承认隐喻是一种语义现象,都试图解答隐喻如何以其独特的方式表达意义这一核心问题。

Grammatical metaphor and cognitive metaphor have their different interpretations of language, so the relevant studies have different features. The two theories are different in four aspects, different understandings of language, different research scopes, different ways of classifying human experience and different understandings of the concept of “ reshaping”. They share one point, that is, they both regard metaphor as a semantic phenomenon and try to interpret in their own ways how metaphor expresses “meaning”.
