The Xiang＇an Submarine Tunnel at Xiamen, and the hydro-geological conditions of the project are briefed in the paper, with stress placed on the waterproofing design and construction inside the submarine tunnel in the course of construction, the waterproofing measures for the water-rich-sand-stratum sections, and various other draining measures. With the project as a practical example, wa technical measures, such as reinforcing the initial supporting and slip-casting to from behind, stressing the water-proofing and draining design for structures under are suggested. It may serve as a useful reference for other similar projects.
