In organic synthesis, mono - alkylation of amines is an important kind of reaction. A further well known and common difficulty in synthesis is the prevention of over - alkylation during the conversion of primary to secondary amines because of their highly activity. Therefore, indirect ways are usually used in the mono - alkylation of amines. In this paper, the recent progress of mono - alkylation of amines has been reviewed.
