Chemical sensors are valuable in a valuable in a variety of fields such as environmental chemistry, analytic chemistry, and bio-medicinal science. They provide accurate, convenient inexpensive ways of detecting and toxic heavy metal ions with higb selectivity and sensitivity. The progress that has been achieved for the chemical sensors of Hg^2+ is reviewed.
