Effects of National Spiritual Beliefs on Rule of Law

人们长期形成的精神信仰,也在经常地、长期地制约规范着人们的行为。只追求法治,而忽视人们的精神信仰,是不可能真正实现法治的。西方发达国家的法治,是与人们对基督教的信仰密不可分的。基督教中的"摩西十戒"构成了西方法制的基础和内核,人们追求法治与信奉上帝是熔为一炉的。中国要真正实现法治,就必须高度重视人们精神信仰的塑造与养成。

Spiritual beliefs that people formed for a long time usually constraint and regulate the people＇s behavior in long term. It is impossible to realize rule of law if we neglect the people＇s spiritual belief by solely pursuing rule of law. The rule of law in the west is closely related to their Christian belief, in which ＂Moses＇ Ten Commandments＂ constructs the foundation and core of western rule of law. Their pursuit of rule of law is insepa;able from the God belief. So China should attache great importance to the shape and form of the people＇ s spiritual belief to realize rule of law.
