Take the straightness of axis as an example this paper discussed that under the condition of three principles of tolerance,the influence upon fitting property affected by the joint action of shape error and dimensional error. It provided a kind of effective method for designers to evaluate the rationality on the selection of shape tolerance and principle of tolerance.
