两次鸦片战争期间,英军曾对大连进行侵略与骚扰。侵略与骚扰的目的是解决英军给养、集结、休整等一系列迫切需要解决的有关问题。清政府对英军入侵、骚扰大连的态度基本上还是所谓妥协羁縻政策。

The British forces had been aggressing and harassing Dalian during the two opium wars. The aim of the aggression and harassment is to resolve the issues like provision, assemblage, rest and reorganization and a series of others. The troops of Qing Dynasty still held appeasement attitude to the British invaders.
