In this paper, a successful directional blasting example of 35 m - high brick water tower with rein- forced concrete portal is introduced. The water tower＇s structure and its complicated circumstance situation are described. The directional blasting project and detailed design parameters as well as blasting safety protective measures are given, and checking computations of the blasting safety is also made. The actual photographs on the process and effect of the directional blasting are supplied.
