西部新建本科高校的发展建设没有现成的模式,需要在高等教育实践中探索和创新。在大学发展模式多样化的时代,西部新建本科高校必须遵循高等教育发展规律,在办学指导思想、办学理念、办学定位等方面具备鲜明的个性和特色,并有效克服一些制约高等教育发展的制度性因素,才能实现西部新建本科高校追赶跨越式的内涵发展。

The development and construction of newly-buih undergraduate colleges in West China is unprecedented, which needs research and innovation in practice. Now is the time of multiple modes of college development in which they must follow the law of devel- opment of higher education with sharp-cut features in the guiding ideology, idea and direction of running the college and overcome some systematic factors which restrict their development. Only by doing so can we realize their connotation development in catching up.
