摘要
王尔德喜剧的语言极富个性特点,给翻译造成了一定困难。本文引入美国新批评文学理论中的"张力"概念,以王尔德的The Importance of Being Earnest为例,以世俗理念乖讹、普遍常识乖讹、结构内容冲突、预期实际冲突为切入点,分析王尔德喜剧中语言张力的表现形式,探讨如何在翻译中有效再现张力,以及翻译此类文本的策略。
The idiosyncratic characteristics of Wilde's comedies pose great difficulties for their translation. Invoking the concept of "tension" as proposed by the New Criticism theory and based on two translated versions of The Importance of Being Earnest, this paper analyzes the different forms of "tension" in Wilde's plays, i. e. , inconsistencies or conflicts involving culture, common sense, form and content, anticipation and reality. Strategies of how to reproduce the "tension" in translation are also suggested.
