论陈独秀的中西文化评判及其价值取向特点

On Chen Duxiu′s viewpoint on Chinese and Western culture and its characteristics of value orientation

为了探讨陈独秀思想特点,采用文献解析的方法,认为:五四时期,陈独秀从文化发展的视角对中国传统文化的一系列问题进行了较为深入的探讨和研究。他以科学、民主和人文精神等先进理念为参照,对中国传统文化和西方文化进行对比和评判,目的是以西方现代文明来引领中国文化的未来发展。尽管这种评判带有"舍中求西"的情感倾向,对传统文化批评过多,但他并非要全盘否定和废弃中国传统文化,而是主张借鉴西方文化对之进行合理改造,以便使之更好地适应现代社会发展的需要。结合五四新文化的时代背景来看,陈独秀的评判基本上是客观的,其文化的价值取向是科学的、先进的,在一定程度上解决了长期困扰中国传统文化的现代转向危机,与此同时,也为中国传统文化的现代转换奠定了基础。

During the time of May 4th Movement, Chen Duxiu makes a series further researches on Chinese traditional culture from the viewpoint of cultural development. He critizes Chinese and western culture and compares them according to the idea of science, democracy and humanity and some other advanced ideas, in order to direct Chinese culture＇ s future development toward to western culture. Although ChenDuxiu critizes both the Chinese and western culture he likes the western culture more than Chinese, he doesn＇ t want to negate or abandon Chinese traditional culture, but make a reform on it to adapt the development of modern society with the western culture. From the background of May 4th, ChenDuxiu＇ s critics are objective on the whole, and his cultural value orientation is scientific and advanced, which solved the crisis of Chinese culture, and at the same time also laid a good foundation for the modern transition of Chinese traditional culture.
