Two Ways Used in Modern Research of Chinese Prescription

中药方剂现代研究已经分化为两条道路，一条是以中医理论为指导的中药方剂研究，一条是以西医理论为指导的中药西药化研究。要严格地区分两条道路的原则性差别，认识中药西药化研究的必然性和局限性，中药方剂现代研究决不能走中药西药化的道路。正确地把握自己独立研究和发展的方向，关键是要坚持以中医理论为指导，坚持系统论思路，坚持为辨证论治服务，揭示和阐明中药方剂的整体取性原理、因证论效原理、中介调理原理。

The modern research of Chinese prescription has been divided into ways.One is directed by the theory of TCM,another is the westernizing research of Chinese medicine which directed by the theory of western medicine It is necessary to make the fundamental distinction between two ways.The historical necessity of the latter should be objectively recognized.However,the modern research of Chinese medicine and prescription,as part of TCM,ought not to be on the way of westeringation.The direction of independant research and development must be correctly grasped.The key to solving this problem is to stick to the direction of the theory of TCM,and insist on the systematic train of thought.And it is also very important to declare three principles.The first one is to recognize the nature of Chinese medicine according to the concept of wholism.The second one is to decide the efficacy of the medicine and prescription based on their effect on the syndrome.And the last one is the principle of bringing the adjusting function of Chinese medicine and prescription into play through medium link.
