A Preliminary Analysis of Concept, Origin,Development and Structure of Essence qi

对精气的内涵、源流及层次结构作了研讨，认为精气在古代哲学中一般泛指气，而在中医学中与气的概念有别；中医学的精、气概念与古代哲学所指不同，并各有其生成之源；哲学的气是精气理论结构的最高层次，其次为中医学的气与自然界的气；一身之气是人体内气的最高层次，其次为元气、宗气等。

This article made an exploration of the concept,origin,development and category structure of essence-qi,holding that essence-qi refers to qi generally in ancient chinese philosophy which is different from Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine.Essence and qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine,different from these in ancient philosophy,have their specific origins.Qi as a philosophical concept serves as the basic category of the theory of essence-qi and qi in traditional Chinese medicine and the natural qi are in the secondary categories,while qi of the whole of human body serves as the most basic qi of the human body,primordial qi,pectorial qi,nutritive qi and defensive qi fall into the second category and qi of the zang-fu organs and meridians are in the category subordinated to the secondary catogery of the human body.
