An Experimental Research on the Effect of Self-Esteem and Self-presentation on Memory

按照忽视不一致-负向模型,自尊的高低与自我表现的类型之间的交互作用在回忆自我表现情境的错误量上应达到显著水平。对90名本科生的实验研究支持该假设,即个体对与其自尊水平不一致的自我表现信息的回忆错误显著高于一致的自我表现信息。这个结果也许是对既往记忆忽视现象的一个补充。

According to the inconsistency-negativity neglect model, the interaction between the level of self esteem and the type of self presentation would be significant for the recall of self presentation information. The results of the experimental research on the 90 undergraduates support the hypothesis. The individuals made more recall errors for the inconsistency information with the level of self esteem than the consistency information. The results may supplement the phenomena of mnemic neglect.
