The author has summarized theories and studies about love＇ s type described in the original book, interpreted in details and developed Robert J. Sternberg＇ s Triangular theory of love. Sternberg＇ s Triangular theory of love, mainly originating from westerners＇ affection and life experience, divides love into four status which cannot be called love and four types of affection experience which can be called love, on the basis of different combinations of intimacy, passion and commitment. However, because of difference between eastern and western culture, Chinese people have their own affection experience and specific love types. Then warps will appear when we try to use Triangular theory to analyze China＇ s love type. Therefore this article pays much attention to analyze the characteristics of China＇ s love and the cultural origin for Chinese people＇ s search for pure spiritual love which is the bondage of feudal ethical code.
