摘要
认知语言学为范畴化研究做出了很大贡献,但并未回答范畴化能力动态发展的外在语言表现如何、有限的语言如何被调用以表述多样的经验现象等问题。系统功能语言学从自身理论,比如语法作为经验的编码、概念库、精密度阶等角度出发,对范畴化做了系统研究。其解释虽与认知范畴化研究不乏融通之处,但更多地凸现了自己的独特,可以视为对认知范畴化研究的重要贡献和补充。
Despite great contributions to categorization studies, Cognitive Linguistics fails to solve several problems： the externalized language performance of the dynamic development of categorization ability, how limited language resource is maneuvered to represent diverse phenomena etc. SFL approaches categorization from a distinctive way from Cognitive Linguistics, such as grammar as construal of experience, the ideation base, scale of delicacy, thus establishing its own model of construing experience through meaning. Although this SFL model shares much commensuration and compatibility with cognitive categorization studies, it offers a peculiar explanation to categorization. Thus, it can be regarded as an important contribution and complement to cognitive categorization research.
