Yan Jidao's Cultural Mentality and His Thoughts of the Ci Poem

北宋著名词人晏几道出生世家,生平坎坷。老庄思想和魏晋风骨成为他文化心理的主要因素,佛禅思想亦有体现。同时,他认为词源于乐府,应该遣情抒怀,发挥更大的作用。在词的创作上,他追求雅致,并表现出一种平等、真诚的女性观。

Yan Jidao, a renowned poet in the North Song Dynasty, was born with a silver spoon in the month, but he suffered much later in his life. The thoughts of Daoism and the spirit of Wei and Jin occupied as the major elements of his cultural resorts as well as the Buddhism. Meanwhile, he regarded that the Ci Poem stemed from Yuefu poem, which should play a greater role in expressing emotion. Rhetorically he pursued elegance and narrated in a feminie discourse of equality and honesty.
