People＇ s name is a normal language phenomenon in human society. However, the main character in English and American literature has always been delicately designed and cautiously named, which has its special implication based on the characters＇ identity, status, and the theme of the literature works. Therefore, this paper tries to make an exploration of the implication and the cultural connotation of the main characters in some English and American literature works.
