发挥高校工会作用 努力构建和谐校园

中共中央总书记胡锦涛在十七大报告中指出:"必须在经济发展的基础上,更加注重社会建设,着力保障和改善民生,推进社会体制改革,扩大公共服务,完善社会管理,促进社会公平正义,努力使全体人民学有所教、劳有所得、病有所医、老有所养、住有所居,推动建设和谐社会。"高等院校在构建社会主义和谐社会中将发挥重大的作用。高校工会组织是党领导下的群众组织,是党联系群众的桥梁和纽带,要善于发挥自己的基本职能作用和群众组织及文化活动等优势,为构建和谐校园做出积极贡献。

In the Report to Seventeenth National Congress, Hu Jintao, the general secretary of the central committee of communist party of China, points out that Social development is closely related to the people＇ s wellbeing. More importance must therefore be attached to social development on the basis of economic growth to ensure and improve people＇ s livelihood, carry out social restructuring, expand public services, improve social management and promote social equity and justice. We must do our best to ensure that all our people enjoy their rights of education, employment, medical and old - age care, and housing, so as to build a harmonious society. Colleges and universifies, as a significant part of the whole social system and general layout, play an important role in building a harmonious society. Labor unions in colleges and universities are mass organizations under the leadership of communist party, are the ties that link the communist party and Chinese people. Therefore, these unions should make a better use of their basic functions, the advantages of mass organizations, cultural activities, and staff home, and make a contribution to constructing harmonious campuses.
