摘要
通过对英语名词转动概念的解读,从隐喻理论角度探讨动物名称动词化的喻人用法。动物名称转动喻人是借助动物的本性和外形特征描述去认识并说明人类的本质特征和说话者带有褒贬义的感情倾向,其修辞效果既生动形象,清新活泼,又引发联想,渲染气氛,但并非任何动物名称的动词化都随意可为,以免造成牵强不当的结果。
The paper is to explore verbalized animal names used to describe human beings based on the interpretation of Noun-Verb conversion and theory of cognitive metaphor in order to recognize and illustrate the human essence and the speaker＇s emotional tendency by means of natural instincts and looks of animals. Noun-Verb conversion not only produces vividness, freshness but initiates association and heightens language atmosphere. Meanwhile random and improper use of Noun-Verb conversion with animal names should be avoided.
