象征人类学作为人类学的一个分支学科,被学术界广泛运用于对艺术、宗教、文学、历史、语言等方面的解释。象征是一种表达方式,在社会历史的发展过程中,人类有意识地用某种事物或行为表现一定的特指意义。在中国民间刺绣中,往往用动物、植物、人物故事、建筑、器物、文字、几何形等组成的图案符号,来传递某种文化信息,寓意深层的文化内涵,用象征意义表达人们的祈福观念、审美情趣和心理愿望。

This kind of symbolic meaning reflects people＇s concepts of best wishes, aesthetic tastes, and desires.
