摘要
认知语境是认知语言学一个重要的基本概念。在中国古典诗歌英译的过程中,由于语言形式的转换,文化环境发生了变化,原文化意象赖以生存的"文化语境"必须在另一种语言所沉积的文化环境中重新构建,而这一构建完全受到译语、译者及读者的认知语境的制约。本文旨在对认知语境理论及其操作紧扣汉语古诗英译这一焦点进行阐述,并着重以此理论来探讨汉语古诗英译实属认知过程,从中发现极难克服的认知障碍及原因。
Cognitive context is one of the most important basic concepts in cognitive linguistics. The Chinese classic poems are translated into English. In the process of which owing to the transformation of language forms, the cultural environment is also changed. In that case, the "cultural context", tightly connected with the original culture, should be reconstructed in the other cultural environment deposited in terms of the target language. This kind of reconstruction is completely confined by the different cognitive contexts of the original writers, translators and their readers. This paper intends to study the translation of the classic Chinese poems from the perspective of cognitive context, which aims to discuss that this kind of translation is not only the transfor- mation of language, but also a kind of cognitive behavior that is a thought process possessing intimate relations with the states of cognitive context among the writers, translators and readers.
