China＇s constitutional reform in the early 20th century brought about the profound influence on the Chinese politics. In the past, many authors and scholars stressed on the deceiving nature of the constitutional reform, but in fact, the Qing government drew on the experience of western constitution system, tried to change the absolute monarchy regime into the constitutional monarchy regime and promulgated the outline of imperial constitution. These acts brought about some great changes to the Chinese traditional politics.
