摘要
通过扫描电子显微镜和偏光显微镜研究了在电场作用下聚合物网络稳定的铁电液晶分子取向特性。实验结果表明:铁电液晶盒内形成的聚合物网络具有方向性和规律性并为树枝状;由于在近晶C*下进行聚合物网络紫外固化,并在固化过程中施加低频电场(±50V,5Hz),从而有效地控制了铁电液晶分子的排列,改变了以往的铁电液晶显示器中的分子排列模式(Chevron结构)而得到了以条纹织构为代表特征的准书架式结构。
A monomer with reactive diacrylate was mixed with a commercial ferroelectric liquid crystal(FLC)mixture and polymerized under UV irradiation with electric field application(±50 V,5 Hz) to obtain polymer networks stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystals(PNSFLC) Optical and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) were used to study the polymer networks The polymer networks formed in SmC * phase is fibrils-like and parallet to the rubbing direction It is found that presences of polymer networks have great effects on the FLC molecules alignment The layer structure of FLC molecules orientation has been changed from Chevron structure into quasi-bookshelf structure with senpped texture appearance
