Three Cognitive Premises for Handling the Relationship with Capitalism in the Building of a Harmonious Society in the Context of Economic Globalization

如何认识胡锦涛同志提出的"在经济全球化条件下如何处理同资本主义关系"问题,需要搞清楚三个认识前提:首先,要清楚地认识资本主义在其历史过程中处于什么阶段;其次,要清醒地认识十月革命和战后出现的社会主义国家是在何种状态下走上社会主义道路的;最后,要清醒地认识到社会主义和资本主义,在人类历史发展的坐标中是何种关系。

Three cognitive premises need to be clarified before a full comprehension is gained of the issue of ＂how to handle the relationship with capitalism in the context of economic globalization＂ advanced by General Secretary of CCP Hu Jintao under the current situation of harmonious society construction. Firstly, a clear understanding should be obtained of the present historical phase of capitalism; secondly, how socialist countries have taken the road of socialism after the Oct. Revolution and World War Ⅱ should be distinctly comprehended, and finally, a better idea should be attained of the relationship between socialism and capitalism in the coordinate of human historical development.
