On the Functions of Tea in the Works of Jane Austen

Tea plays an important role in Jane Austen＇s daily life as well as in her novels. There are a considerable number of tea ceremonies and tea parties in the works, which make the plots and characters vivid and unforgettable. From a new perspective with the combination of the analysis of the texts and tea culture, this paper focuses on the tea functions in Jane Austen＇s works.
