当今图书馆在社会中的作用日益突出。但是,图书馆事业的发展也存在多种障碍,致使图书馆数量及其服务品种与人民日益增长的文化需求之间矛盾日益尖锐。由此图书馆界改变思路、解放思想,在公共图书馆发展空白地带,引进民间资金大力发展民营图书馆是完全可行、必要有益的;民营图书馆作为公共图书馆的有益补充很适合在城市社区、乡镇及农村发展,并通过公益活动扩大影响,谋求可持续发展资金。

Nowadays the libraries are playing more and more important role in our society. But various obstacles still exist in the development of librarianship. Contradiction between the number of the library as well as its service species and the growing need of culture is more and more acute. So it is feasible and necessary to change the way of our train of thought and to liberate our thought in using the civil funds in the blank district of the development of the public library to develop the privately owned library. As the supplementary parts to the public library, the development of the privately owned library is suitable for city communities, villages and countryside. It can seek for the sustainable developed funds through public welfare activities.
