Reuse of the Protected Courtyard in Historic District:Taking Beiyuanmen No.144 Courtyard in Drum Tower Historic District of Xi'an as an Example

该文通过对西安历史街区保护工作的分析,并以西安市鼓楼历史街区北院门144号院落的研究为切入点,通过对院落平面布局和利用现状的分析,阐述了院落保护与利用的关系,继而得出结论:只有建立保护与利用相结合的观念,才能真正恢复传统院落的生命力,最终实现历史街区的可持续发展。

Based on the analysis of historic district protection in Xi＇an, and starting with the study on Beiyuanmen No.144 Courtyard in Drum Tower Historic District, this article analyzes its plan layout and utilization situation, expatiates the relationship between conservation and utilization, and concludes that none but through erecting the concept of integrating conservation and utilization, can the vitality of traditional courtyard be really renewed, and the sustainable development of historic district be finally realized.
