This paper clarifies the theory foundation of academic library ＂knowledge port＂ , it focuses on analysis of the function and building content of ＂knowledge port＂, proposes that ＂Information seaport＂ of academic library ought to possess three great functions, that is, information organization together with memory, information propaganda together with exchange, information share together with service. Its building content should include the knowledge service platform, knowledge resources and the construction of users knowledge service.
