By analyzing Bo Yi-bo＇s work, this paper found that as the veteran leader he insisted on materialism and historical dialectics. He appraised correctly Chairman Mao Ze-dong＇s historical success and fault. Bo Yi-bo thought that Mao＇s success was larger than his fault and analyzed the subjective and objective reasons of Mao＇s fault in a matter-of-fact way. Appraisal of historical characters correctly was to keep in mind the past. Meanwhile, Bo Yi-bo＇ s noble character and sterling integrity should be appreciated and respected.
