摘要
在国际商务中,作为东方文化的代表,中国人重视"面子"并有许多与"面子"相关的表达方式。作为西方文化的代表,美国人也讲"面子",而且怕丢"面子"。通过对"面子"的比较和分析,论述不同的文化视角对"面子"的不同看法和理解,不同的理解所折射出的不同价值观念,从而阐明"面子"在跨文化交际中的作用。
In international business, Chinese, as representatives of the East, place a high value on face and have many different expressions relating to it. Americans, as representatives of Western culture, do not want to lose face and expect to save face. Through the contrast and analysis of face, the paper focused on different understanding and value of face from Western and Eastern perspectives and therefore stated the importance of face in cross-cultural communication.
