Translator's subjectivity under George Steiner's hermeneutic translation theory——a case study of two Chinese versions of Tess

针对目前学界对《苔丝》中译本的研究仅限于语言层面上的对比分析而往往忽略译者的能动参与的现状,借助斯坦纳阐释翻译理论对《苔丝》的两个不同时期的中译本进行分析和比较,以研究翻译过程中译者主体性的体现。

In view of the present research on Chinese translations of Tess, which has been only confined to the linguistic level while neglecting the active participation of the translator, the paper drew on G. Steiner＇s hermeneutic translation theory to analyze two Chinese versions of Tess with the purpose of examining the translator＇s subjectivity in translation process.
