中国共产党在不同历史时期对侨务资源的认识和对侨务工作的指示,形成了党独具特色的侨务思想。20世纪八九十年代,邓小平将华侨华人与我国经济发展、现代化建设有机地联系起来,提出了"海外关系论"和"机遇论"。世纪之交,江泽民把华侨华人与我国的现实和未来有机地融合,创造性地提出了"优势论"和"资源论",继承和发展了邓小平的侨务思想。江泽民的侨务思想对新时期培育、保护、发展侨务资源,巩固统一战线,实现祖国统一事业具有重大的现实意义。

The CPC＇s ideology of overseas Chinese affairs stems from two sources-CPC＇s interpretations of overseas Chinese resources and policy towards overseas Chinese affairs in different historical periods. In the 1980s and 1990s, by integrating overseas Chinese affairs with China＇s economic development and mod- ernization, Deng Xiao-ping proposed Overseas Connections Theory and Opportunity Theory. At the beginning of the new millennium, by linking overseas Chinese affairs with China＇s present and future development, Jiang Ze-min further developed Deng＇s theories and put forward Overseas Chinese Priority Theory and Overseas Chinese Resources Theory, which is of great practical value for us to protect and facilitate overseas Chinese resources, to strengthen the patriotic united front, and to realize the unification of our motherland in the new era.
