Myocardial cell culture was applied to explore the lead induced changes in myocardial cell mortality and contraction and the influences of zinc.The results were as follows:lead in the dose range of 1~100μmol had no effect on the cell mortality.However,lead in the same range could affect the cell contraction.Compared to control group,in 10μmol/L group the beat peaked,then began to drop with the increase in the dose of lead,a lowest beat appeared in 100μmol/L group.Zinc at dose of 5μmol/L could protect the myocardia cell against lead induced abnormal contraction.Thus,it follows that lead has no effect on the myocardia cell mortality but can affect the contraction and that zinc might protect the cells against lead induced abnormal contraction to a certain extent.
