In 2007, the development of IPTV reached a new milestone. However, there are still many obstacles to the development of IPTV, one of which is terminal. To resolve this problem, the paper presents terminal innovation from many aspects including hardware technology, software, applications, business model, and so on. There will be many kind of IPTV terminals, such as intelligent terminal, integration terminal, dedicated terminal and terminal adapter in the future.
