Building a New-Style City in Jinan

2008年2月22日．中共济南市委，市政府隆重召开全市科技进步表彰暨创新型城市建设大会。继2007年济南市以史无前例的5600多万元奖励自主创新者后．今年市委、市政府再出巨资6553万元．重奖在科技进步事业和创新型城市建设工作中作出突出贡献的单位和个人，获奖项目涉及10大类244个奖项．创出用于该项奖励的奖金数额新高。大会不仅表彰先进、总结工作．

On February 22, 2008, Jinan Municipal Party Committee and the Local Government held a meeting to commend and reward progress in the scientific and technological construction of a new-style city. In 2007, Jinan gave awards totalling 56 million yuan to creative innovators. This year, the government will also give 65.53 million yuan to the outstanding units or individuals involved in making progress in the scientific and technological construction of a new-style city. There will be 244 awards in 10 categories. The meeting will mobilize the whole city to change the style of economic development, improve the capability for independent innovation and promote the building of a new-style city.
