实现科学发展、构建和谐社会不仅是新时期统战工作的指导思想,是规范新时期统战工作与现代化建设密切结合的战略方针,而且是新时期统一战线的时代特征。认识新时期统一战线的时代特征,把握新时期统战工作与现代化建设的结合点,是构建和谐社会赋予统一战线的基本任务与要求。"国、亲、新登陆"后,海峡两岸的和平与发展、和谐与共荣是新时期统一战线时代特征的新内容。

The realization of scientific development and the building of a harmonious society is not only the guiding ideology of the united front work in the new period and the strategic policy for standardizing the close integration of the united front work in the new period with modernization construction but also the feature of the united front work in the new period. To acknowledge the features of the united front in the new period and to handle well the integration of the united front work with modernization construction are the basic tasks and requests entrusted to the united front in relation to the building of a harmonious society.
