Empirical Analysis on the Effectiveness of Antitrust Policies:A Survey

近年来,随着反垄断政策在全球普遍实施,对其有效性的研究也迅速发展。本文总结和评述了用实证方法研究反垄断政策有效性的研究成果。在理论研究尚无定论的情况下,实证研究结论对指导反垄断政策的设计与实施,更好地保护消费者利益和促进社会福利都具有重要指导意义。

As more and more antitrust policies have been put into practice recently, studies on the effectiveness of them have also made great progress. This paper surveys empirical analyses on the effectiveness of antitrust policies. Although there are still no consistent conclusions on this topic, the importance of empirical evidences has been recognized by antitrust economists. Conclusions from empirical studies give important instruction not only on the design but the implementation of antitrust policies. It is helpful to protect the consumer and social welfare.
