王尔德是英国戏剧文坛巨匠之一,其戏剧对话妙语连珠,无论从音律、词汇还是句法修辞上都极富艺术性,形成了独特的文体风格。翻译转换王尔德这样富于表现力的文笔实非易事。然而,余光中和张南峰在翻译王尔德的代表作《不可儿戏》时,利用汉语中丰富的语言艺术手段,甚至采取创造性补偿的方法,对译文进行了巧妙处理,再现了原文的文体风格特点,为其他译者翻译王尔德的作品做出了表率。

Oscar Wilde is one of the most outstanding playwrights in British literature, whose dramatic dialogues are known for numerous witty remarks and artistry, no matter from the perspectives of rhyme and rhythm, diction or syntax, and whose stylistic features are thus very unique.
