The Historical Process of the Language Life

人类形成的时候语言就已开始萌芽。人类成为万物之灵的主要条件是发展了语言。语言扩大了人脑对信息的记忆量,便利了把信息提炼成为知识,利用知识支配环境。语言是最基本的信息承载体。文字、传声技术和计算机提高了语言的传播功能;国家共同语和国际共同语扩大了语言的流通范围。从语言生活的历史进程看,人类语言生活的发展节奏越来越快。从语言的开始到文字的开始大约经过200万年。从文字的开始到国家共同语的开始大约经过5000年。从国家共同语的开始到传声技术的开始大约经过200年。从传声技术的开始到计算机的开始大约经过100年。人类的语言生活已经达到"上穷碧落、下及黄泉"的神话境界了。可是,历史永远不会停止,还在更快地前进。因此,我们必须对中国的语言和文字不断进行自我完善化,紧跟着瞬息万变的历史步伐,向信息化时代前进。

Language begins to sprout along with the formation of mankind. The main condition that makes man cleverer than any other creatures is the development of language. Language enlarges the brain＇s information memory power, makes it easy to refine information into knowledge and utilizes knowledge to control the environment. Language is the basic information earlier. Characters, technology of propagation of sound and computers have raised the ability of language＇s propagation. Nation＇s common lan- guage and the international common language have enlarged the range of language＇s circulation. From the historical process of the language life, the development of human＇s language life becomes faster and faster. It takes the language development two million years from the beginning of a language to the beginning of characters, five thousand years from characters to the national common language, two hundred years from national common language to the technology of propagation of sound and about one hundred years from the technology of propagation of sound to computers. The language life has reached to the mythological realm. But the history will never stop and will develop more rapidly, therefore we should make Chinese language and characters constantly improved, keep up to the historical steps and advance to the age of information.
