清道光年间,姚莹出任台湾兵备道。他为官清廉,爱土爱民,率领台湾军民抗英保台,为保卫祖国的领土完整作出巨大贡献,是一位真正称得上"爱台湾"的人。

In Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, YAO Ying was appointed the Governor of Taiwan. He was an honest and upright official, and loved the people and motherland. He led pepole in Taiwan to fight against British invaders and safeguard Taiwan, thus greatly contributing to the territorial integrity of the country. He was a man who truly loved Taiwan.
